<p>The students had also taken out a protest rally in the City before converging at the Nadakacheri where they protested.<br /><br />Earlier Education Department in its order had stated the shifting of the College as it didn’t have its own land and was functioning from a school premises. The officials from CMC and City Development Board were quick to join the protesters and also demanded land for the College.<br /><br />More than 600 students are studying in the College. Most of whom are from rural areas and belong to SC/ST and minority communities.<br /><br />The shifting of the college would adversely effect the education of these students, alleged DYFI and SFI students.
