Teams clear posters, banners

Deputy Commissioner Bagadi Gautham said that teams have been constituted to clear banners, posters and wall writings following the announcement of Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, he said that committees have been constituted at the district, taluk and gram panchayat level. Sector officers have been appointed for polling booths.

He said the district has 1,222 polling booths. A total of 7,332 polling officials are required for polling.

The authorities have received 6,830 applications under “Minchina nondani” for registration of voters in the district. The applications are being verified by the officials, he added.

The deputy commissioner said the public can complain of the violation of model code of conduct through cVigil app along with photographs. The app will identify the spot where the violation of the model code of conduct has taken place through GPS. The team of officials will visit the spot within 15 minutes of the receipt of the complaint. The online report should be submitted by the team within 30 minutes.

The DC said that 22 check posts have been opened in the district. The district has 12,073 gun license holders who have been asked to deposit their guns in the respective police station within a week.
