In a one-sided match, the Alva’s Moodbidri team crushed the DNI Home Theater team by 110 runs, to lift the Torpedoes T10 Bash Elite National Cricket Championship.

In the Corporate category, league leader Indian Port lifted the trophy.

Alva’s team also won a cash prize of Rs one lakh while the DNI team won Rs 50,000. The Corporate Champion Indian Port and LMET won a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.

A clinical bowling performance by Shreesha Acharya (5 wickets for 9 runs) and Lal Sachin’s half century sealed Alva’s victory in the final match. Electing to bat, the Alva’s team made 134 runs in 10 overs. In reply to the mammoth total, the DNI team collapsed for merely 24 runs.

Shreesha Acharya was declared not only the Man of the Match in the final match but also the best bowler of the tournament. Lal Sachin won Best Batsman award of the tournament.

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sasikant Senthil S handed over the trophies to the winning teams.

Torpedoes sports club felicitated sports achievers from the district, including former cricketer Vijaya Alva, Uday Kumar Y, Manjunath Mallya and an emerging cricket talent Yash.

MRPL Chief General Manager Sharath Bhudale, NMPT Sports Council President Captain S R Patnaik, Karnataka Cricket Association Mangalore Divison Convenor Manohar Amin, Former MLA Moideen Bava and Corporator Pratibha Kulai Reddy were also present.

Torpedoes President Goutham Shetty was also present.
