Training on aquarium fabrication held

   About 35 trainees participated and learned the art of aquarium construction and its maintenance. Ronald D’Souza, an alumnus of Fisheries College and an young entrepreneur was the resource person. He emphasised that there is a great demand for aquariums in cities and towns and one should take advantage of the situation and start aquarium business with minimum capital investment.

Another resource person, Dr Ashwin Rai, Research Associate of the college, explained that global aquarium trade today is worth $16 billion. Therefore, aquarium fabrication and ornamental fish production is a lucrative avocation, he said. Ashok Kharvy, Senior Lab Assistant, gave a demonstration of aquarium fabrication and fish feed preparation. Dr S M Shivaprakash Professor and Head, Extension Education Wing of the College welcomed the gathering.
