<p>Acting on the villagers’ complaint, the Forest officers had placed a dog as bait for more than 10 days and patiently waited for the animal to sneak inside the camouflaged cage. The leopard came in search of food and got trapped on Saturday night.<br /><br />A team of officers and personnel, led by DCF Yathish Kumar, ACF Thammaiah, RFO Praveen Kumar, trapped the animal and released it into the deep forest in Nagarahole.<br /><br />The heavily built leopard had frequented the village and killed several sheep and dogs in the last one year. <br /><br />Many cows had also sustained serious injuries during the attacks. A village resident, Shivaramu, was also injured after the leopard attacked him. Following the incident, the villagers had lodged a complaint with the Forest Department.</p>
