The government will withdraw the Karnataka State Film Awards conferred on two Kannada movies in four different categories for  2010-11, the director of Department of Information and Public Relations told the High Court on Monday.

‘Raaj The Showman’, starring Puneeth Rajkumar, had won three awards for best music director, best editing and best playback singer (Tippu for the song ‘Hey Hey Paaro’). ‘Olave Jeevana Lekkachara’ had won the award for best script (by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar). Each award carried Rs 20,000 in cash and 100 gms of silver citation. The submission came on a petition by one S Radha who questioned the awards to certain films, saying they had submitted the entries after the due date.
