Udupi dist has 9.90L voters

Udupi Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis told media persons that according to the revised voters list, as on January 1, 2019, there are 9,90,773 voters in the district.

Sharing the constituency-wise details, Priyanka said that there were 2,22,542 voters in Byndoor Assembly constituency, 2,00,101 voters in Kundapur, 2,05,566 voters in Udupi, 1,81,178 voters in Kaup, 1,81,386 voters in Karkala.

Of the total 9,90,773 voters, 4,77,243 are male and 5,13,523 are female. As many as 10,273 new names have been added, while 7,099 names have been deleted.

That apart 3,374 names were amended, 755 applications accepted for the change of Assembly constituency. Among the 10,273 new names added, 4,793 are youth.

Priyanka added that Voters Day will be celebrated on January 25 at taluk and district level.

The newly enrolled youth voters will be given the voters identification card, she said.
