The leopard had killed more than ten goats at Borikoppalu and Jodineralakere villages and had also attacked two oxen. Farmers were frightened to work in the fields too.The villagers’ repeated plea to Forest department officials to catch the leopard had went on deaf ears.
Unable to bear the trouble anymore, the villagers themselves arranged for the cage.  Forest officer Nagaraj took the leopard to possession.
