Legislative Council Chairman D H Shankaramurthy on Thursday said he would soon dispose of the 'fake' travel allowance (TA) bills case, involving eight MLCs.

Speaking to reporters after hearing Padmanabha Reddy out, the BJP leader in the BBMP and the complainant, Shankaramurthy said the former had sought a day's time to furnish further documentary evidence. He said his verdict would be 'final' and no court would be able to question him.

Shankarmurthy had summoned Reddy on Thursday in connection with the ongoing enquiry into the case.

Reddy, who has complained to the Council Chairman seeking the disqualification of the MLCs, charged that the legislators continued to claim allowances even after the complaint. He said the amount had now exceeded Rs 34 lakh.
