The actual winter season in Mysuru is from December to February. The winter set in the last few days of December and first week of January, 2025. </p>.<p>Even though afternoons are warmer with the Sun shining brightly, the residents can experience chillness in the evening. The temperature dips further by night and early morning.</p>.<p>Fitness freaks are finding it difficult to continue with their routine morning walks. Many are seen covered in warm clothing, to protect themselves from the chilly weather.</p>.Cold conditions persist in Delhi after light rain, night temperature rises in Kashmir.<p><strong>Average minimum temperature 14 degree C</strong></p>.<p>According to the observation recorded by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature as on January 6 is 12.6 degree Celsius. It has predicted an average minimum temperature of 14 degree Celsius, this week. </p>.<p>The minimum temperature, which was hovering above 15 degree Celsius last week, came down to 14 degree Celsius on Sunday. Besides, the IMD has predicted an average minimum temperature to be around 14.5 and 14.9 this week.</p>.<p>Meanwhile, the maximum temperature predicted this week is 27 degree Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning is expected to be 85% to 92% and afternoon humidity to be in the range of 36% to 41%. Wind speed is expected to be 2.3 to 9.7 km/hour.</p>.<p>Mysuru registered an average minimum temperature of around 17 degree Celsius till the last week of December.</p>.<p>Mysureans are experiencing misty mornings along with chillness. The chilly weather has not only been experienced in Mysuru city, but also in rural areas. But, the afternoon temperature is around 27 degree Celsius, which was around 28 to 29 degree Celsius till last week.</p>.<p>People, who have to venture out early in the morning are seen wearing sweaters and woolen caps, to keep warm. There is a demand for caps, mufflers, monkey caps for children and adults, and others. Besides vendors, most of them from North India, can be seen selling jackets, pullovers, jerkins and blankets at many makeshift shops and also on vehicles.</p>.<p>While there is a good demand for hot tea and coffee, to beat the chill, roadside vendors selling vada, bajji and bondas are also doing good business. Meanwhile, there are not many takers for tender coconuts, fruits and fruit juices.</p>.<p><strong>Personal hygiene</strong></p>.<p>“Cases of upper respiratory tract infection are on a rise, with cold, cough and fever during the season change. It spreads fast at homes and offices. Personal and respiratory hygiene is important. Cover your mouth with tissue or napkin while coughing or sneezing and dispose it properly, to stop the spread. Upper tract infections get cured in a week. However, if the condition persists, the patients should consult their doctor and undergo tests, to prevent any complication. Keep yourself warm. It is a must to consume warm fluids and fresh food,” advise doctors.</p>
