It was said that Mohandas was working in a workshop in Maroli and was also taking up the contract of drainage works. Shanthi was a housewife and her husband was an autorickshaw driver. The incident must have taken place around 11.30 am.
It was said that Shanthi was stabbed to death in her house. While Mohandas was found hanging in the house of Shanthi.
It is suspected that the duo were having an affair and Mohandas must have murdered Shanthi. Nobody was at home when the incident took place.
The incident came to light when Shanthi’s daughter came home after writing the examination. Mangalore Commissionerate Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh visited the spot.
A case has been registered.
Theft in a house
Some unidentified miscreants gained entry into a house and decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 10,00,000 at Kallare in Puttur.
The house belong to Venkatakrishna K K. The miscreants gained entry by breaking open the door lock. A case has been registered.
