<p>Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old lady teacher of a reputed school was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old male student in Mumbai.</p><p>The accused, who is an English teacher, is a married woman and has two children. </p><p>She has been booked under charges of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a gender-neutral law. </p>.Cop run over while escorting suspects in drugs case to crime scene .<p>She also faces charges under Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act and Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. </p><p>The accused has reportedly told police that she got attracted to the teenager, then a Class XI student, during various meetings to set up a dance group for the annual school function in December 2023. </p><p>She also made sexual gestures to the student in January 2024. </p><p>The Dadar police station has registered an FIR, which is investigating the case. </p><p>The police are probing whether the accused arrested other students as well.</p><p>According to the initial investigations, the accused allegedly lured him during dance rehearsals and took him to luxury hotels after giving him alcohol. </p><p>However, the boy fell into depression - as it continued several times.</p><p>The teacher also involved a female friend, who told the minor that relationships between older women and teenage boys were "common" and that he and the teacher were "made for each other”.</p><p>The student fell into depression after having passed his exams. He left school earlier in 2025, however, matters worsened when the teacher again tried to contact him.</p><p>The boy confided the issue with the family and approached the police. </p>
