Munnani leader hacked to death

A senior functionary of the Hindu Munnani was hacked to death by an unidentified gang right next to the office of the Joint Commissioner of Police on Wednesday, triggering tension in the region. 

Police sources said the deceased, K P Suresh (40), Tiruvallur West District President of the Hindu Munnani, had just closed his STD booth and was heading home when the gang members came on motorbikes and attacked him with lethal weapons.

A passerby took Suresh to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

BJP state president and Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Pon Radhakrishnan, condemned the killing and demanded the state government to take steps to arrest the culprits.
