Pro-Jagan campaign

Hunger strikes, rallies and marches went on, asking for Jagan to be given the position his late father had occupied just about a week ago. A man in Bashirabad mandal of Rangareddy district reportedly poured over kerosene and set fire on himself in support of making Jagan the CM.

In Nizampet on the city outskirts, beneficiaries of the scheme to provide housing for the poor organised a relay hunger strike with the blessings of the local Congress MLA. In Yemmiganur, Kurnool district, Jagan supporters held a massive motorcycle rally to press home their demand, while supporters at Adilabad collected signatures.

However, Jagan told his supporters that the pressure tactics would only harm his chances.
