Cong minister accused of sending obscene text to woman

A Punjab cabinet minister in Capt Amarinder Singh’s government is accused of sending ‘inappropriate text’ to a woman bureaucrat and is likely to face action soon.

According to sources, Congress president Rahul Gandhi is aware of the matter and has taken strong note of the ministers’ inappropriate behaviour.
After the issue was brought to the notice of chief minister, he too warned the minister and made him apologize to the women officer. The officer had earlier warned the minister to refrain from sending her messages but when he didn't stop she decided to complain.
The Opposition Akali Dal led by president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday asked Capt to unmask his cabinet colleague who had ‘outraged the modesty of an IAS woman officer by sending her indecent messages.’
SAD president said as per media reports no action was taken against the cabinet minister. “The CM must immediately tell the people why he is trying to cover up this heinous act,” Badal said, adding that Rahul Gandhi should also explain whether he is complicit in this cover-up exercise along with the Punjab CM?"
Badal said the Congress and Rahul Gandhi demanded M J Akbar’s resignation from the Union Cabinet after the latter was accused of sexual harassment but they have been actively sheltering someone for the similar act.
