<p>The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) executive meeting on Saturday passed a resolution seeking the Centre’s intervention to fix “population growth imbalance and demographic changes” in the country.<br /><br /></p>.<p>At its meeting in Ranchi, the Sangh body said it was concerned over different communities growing at different rates in the country, thereby changing demographics.<br /><br />The RSS resolution came on the eve of the fourth phase of the polls in Bihar and a day after BJP chief Amit Shah courted controversy by saying if his party loses elections in Bihar, firecrackers will be burst in Pakistan.<br /><br />The NDA is counting on the votes polled in the third and turnout expected in the fourth phase to make up for the first two phases where the Grand Alliance of the JD(U), RJD and the Congress is reported to have done much better than expected.<br /><br />Though none of the NDA leaders officially accept that "Mahagathbandhan" may have taken the lead in the voting on October 12 and 16, but an impression has gained ground that their candidates had not done so well.<br /><br />Polls<br /><br />The fifth and the last phase of the polls will be held in the Mithilanchal-Kosi-Seemanchal belt on November 5. This region is seen as an area where the minorities will play a decisive role in the vote against the NDA.The RSS move is seen as a bid to help the BJP in this phase.<br /><br />Senior RSS leader Krishna Gopal said: “Muslim population growth rate is higher in border areas. Eight districts in India have majority of Muslims. We demand that population policy should be modified.”</p>
