Southern Tamil Nadu paralysed by heavy rains; highways, roads flooded | Schools and colleges shut

Extremely heavy rainfall continues to batter southern Tamil Nadu districts, including Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi, since December 17. Several towns, villages are affected. Lakhs of people are being confined to their homes throwing normal life completely out of gear.
