Teacher accused of killing langur, guns found

Forest officials recovered the single barrel gun and airgun and around 38 rounds of ammunition from the residence of Mangal Chandra Banerjee, headmaster of a primary school of Bolpur, following a tip-off that he had allegedly shot dead the baby langur with the airgun and buried the carcass nearby, an official said.

The department would dug up the carcass of the primate after pinpointing in which ground of the area it was buried on Monday, the official said.Forest officials were also contacting the police to confirm whether Banerjee had the required license for the single barrel gun
