<p>Pune, PTI: A 10-year-old boy was beaten up by his teacher after he failed to bring his Aadhaar card.</p>.<p>The incident occurred at Morya Shikshan Sanstha High School in Chinchwad area a few weeks ago.</p>.<p>Police registered the case on Monday, weeks after the boy was hit on the back of his knees by his teacher.</p>.<p>The boy had to undergo surgery and is recuperating in the hospital, a police official said.</p>.<p>Police have booked the teacher, Kharat, under relevant sections of the IPC and the Juvenile Justice Act.</p>.<p>"The boy was beaten up by Kharat in September after he failed to bring Aadhaar Card," the police said.</p>.<p>The boy suffered an infection due to an internal injury on the back of his knee and later underwent a surgery.</p>.<p>"His parents then approached the police station and lodged a complaint. Since school is closed, we are investigating for what reason the pupil was asked to furnish the Adhaar number," he said.</p>
