<p>Thaawar Chand Gehlot has been given the post of Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment in the 17th Lok Sabha under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.</p>.<p>The Dalit face of BJP, Thaawar Chand Gehlot represents the constituency of Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh. He took oath on Thursday as a cabinet minister of the new Modi government. In the previous cabinet, he held the position of Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment.</p>.<p>He started his political journey at an early age as a student leader. He worked for the social and economic backward class when he was an in-charge of the Schedule Caste Morcha of BJP.</p>.<p>He completed two terms as a member of Rajya Sabha in 2018.</p>.<p>As a minister in the last cabinet, Gehlot initiated several schemes for the deprived sections of the society.
