Osama's compound in Pakistan is being razed

Last Updated 04 May 2018, 05:19 IST

The three-storey compound of the slain Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in Pakistan is being demolished.

The white mansion, where the militant leader took refuge, sits on a sprawling green field in Abbottabad town with mountains in the distance. The town is 60 km from here.
Roads leading to the compound have been blocked and demolition machines were seen near the place, Xinhua quoted the local Urdu channel Express TV as saying.
There was no official confirmation about the report.

Osama, the world's most wanted terrorist, was killed by US commandos in a daring raid on his hideout May 2, 2011.

Al Qaeda is blamed for the Sep 11, 2001 attacks in the US that killed nearly 3,000 people.
