JOIN USJohnlyn Toy and Book Exchange, on Saturday, requested the public to donate unwanted toys and books. The donations will be distributed to inmates of orphanages and ashrams.
Johnlyn Toys (launched in 2018 by John Monteiro), has already reached out to 250 children in five institutions.
According to Monteiro, Mangaluru and its suburbs have 2,200 underprivileged children. He wants to reach out to them with gift hampers containing toys and children’s books. Other books will be given to four colleges and high schools.
Johnlyn Toys has placed collection boxes in educational and religious institutions. Monteiro said donors can also drive into Johnlyn Cottage compound and deposit their donations in the open basement of the cottage even if there is none around to receive them.
