Assam NRC list LIVE | WB BJP President wants NRC to be implemented in Bengal too
The much-awaited updated Final National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam was released on Saturday, excluding names of 19.07 lakh applicants. On Friday Assam CM Sonowal urged people to maintain peace in the state and assured that his government will take care of the cause of those excluded and take care that no one faced "unnecessary harassment." Barpeta: 60-year-old Mohanmala Das whose husband died at a detention camp, gets her name in #NRCFinalList and her 2 sons, whose names came up earlier in NRC draft list, don't have names in the final list.
Mohanmala Das: My husband was a dutiful voter. Suddenly one day he got a notice&was detained. He stayed at the detention camp for 2 yrs & died there.
