RIP Sushma Swaraj | Nation mourns as former EAM cremated with state honours

BJP leader and former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday at 67 following a heart attack.A long-time parliamentarian, Sushma Swaraj had served as the External Affairs Minister in the Narendra Modi cabinet from 2014 to 2019. She had abstained from contesting in the 2019 general elections owing to health concerns.

Swaraj was well-cultured, immensely talented: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday described the death of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj as a "personal loss".

In a video message, he described the senior BJP leader as "well-cultured and immensely talented".

"We never thought such a well-cultured, intelligent and immensely talented leader Sushma-ji will leave us. People like me have suffered a big shock due to her death," Fadnavis said.

The chief minister said Swaraj discharged her duties "with transparency".
