Deutschland in Bengaluru, Oktoberfest style

In a city like Bengaluru where new breweries mushroom almost every month, we don’t really need an excuse like Oktoberfest to celebrate. But in the spirit of the occasion, bars and pubs across the city are offering some of the best beers for brew lovers. The 18-day folk festival began in mid-September and will end soon. Metrolife has put together a list of places where you can head to this weekend.

Bengaluu Marriott Hotel, Whitefield
Experience the flavours of Bavaria and a specially curated spread of Volks treats with a themed Oktoberfest brunch at Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield. M Bar brings to you authentic delicacies and mugs of native beers wafting to your every craving this season. Rohit Joshi, Executive Sous Chef, has prepared signature dishes like traditional German-style Spatzle, Tenderloin-Beer Sauce, German Potato Salad and much more. Choose from an array of select sausages like Chorizo Sausages, Pork Currywurst,Chicken Currywurst Sausages, Chicken Frankfurters, and many more served with a side of Mashed Potato, Red Cabbage, Sauerkraut, and Jus. The festival is on till October 7.

Global Junction, Indiranagar
Celebrate the spirit of Oktoberfest as Glocal Junction brings to you its special curated menu with exotic beer concoctions paired with some delicious surprises. Indulge in scrumptious starters along with chilled beer bucket only for Rs. 2,599 (6 bottles comprising of international brands). Choose from an array of delectable starters like Grilled German Sausages, Hot Dog, Sausage, Fry with Soy, Spaghetti with Chicken Sausage accompanied with beer-infused cocktails like Beer Thyme Slider,Variyali Blood Beer, Beer Mojito, Beer Smackers, Ginger Orange Fizz and more. The festival is on till October 7, 12pm to 1 am.

12th Main, Grand Mercure Bangalore
With exotic beer concoctions, scrumptious food accompanied with a view, the event has been crafted to bring in the spirit of Germany right here. Delicacies such as Pork Tenderloin with Sweet Mustard Crust, Potato, Pancakes, Vanilla Bean Custard with German Sour Cherry, Sauce and more will be available along with beer. The festival is on till October 6, from 7 pm to 10.30 pm.

The Yellow Submarine
Bannerghatta Road The rooftop microbrewery is offering everything from authentic Bavarian beer to quintessential German grub to celebrate Oktoberfest. Try the ‘Marzen’, the amber orange hued original party beer at Oktoberfest. If you want something light and easy, Kolsch, the hybrid styled beer, is an option. For something classic, Hefeweizen, wheat beer,is available. Food includes pretzels, Roasted Chicken, Beer starters and so on. The celebration is on till October 7.

The restaurant presents the XXL Oktobeer Fest, a German extravaganza featuring four world-class fresh beers and an all-German Bavarian inspired menu. You can try everything from Weizenbier, After Dark, Triumph’s Pale Ale, American Light Wheat to Farmhouse Ale. Food will include Pork Sausages, AKA hendl (roast chicken, grilled lamb chops, schweinshaxen and Würstl (sausages) to choose from. The fest is on till October 11.

1131 Bar & Kitchen ,Indiranagar
Indulge in the taste of Munich with succulent chicken in Bavarian Brathendi and platters of cold cut meats, sausages and cheese this Oktoberfest. Along with an extensive beer menu, you can also enjoy dishes like 1131 Party length nachos, Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings, Whole Crab Butter Garlic, Jerusalem Artichokes and Moonshine Seafood Dimsum. The festival is on till October 6, 11.30 am to 1 am.
