Try a buffet in a royal setting

Last Updated 31 August 2018, 16:55 IST

Have you ever wondered how a royal dinner might look like? Well, head to The Spice Bazaar on Lavelle road to experience one.

With Mughal style windows in a Rajasthani setup, the place reminds you of the dining area in the movie ‘Jodha Akbar’. The restaurant serves you food in bronze utensils and has wooden chairs. Forget not to make a reservation as the place is crowded most of the time.

As soon as you enter the hotel, you will notice a fine seating area surrounded with green plants. The waiters greet you with smiles and lead you to your chairs.

You can choose from a vast range of food items.

A full bar, signature cocktails, and fine wines from around the world complement the cuisine, making it the perfect destination for your outing.

They have buffet concept for both lunch and dinner. Be it a business dinner or a romantic getaway, the delightful ambience with bright lights and polished flooring definitely cheers you up. Coming to starters, if you are a non-vegetarian, you must try their ‘Fish Amritsari’ and ‘Chicken Tikka’. Fish Amritsari is a mildly spiced slices of bones fish coated with Indian herb-flavoured batter. It is very tasty and appeals to every palate.

Worry not vegetarians, their Paneer Kurkuri is just for you. The thick sheets of paneer coated with green chutney, deep fried to a golden hue, is soft on the inside and crispy outside.

In soups, their best selling soup ‘Chana Palak ka Shorba’ is a must try. The Chana and Palak’s blend is perfect and tastes heavenly. It is a rich stock of black gram and spinach cooked with Indian spice.

The regular healthy food items have a street food taste which is enough to satisfy the foodie and the health freak in your group. Try their ‘Bhindi Mirchi Masala’ and you will know what I am talking about; the bhindi is roasted to perfection.

You are not allowed to be full yet; there’s more to come.

Their ‘Vegetable Kolhapuri’ is a must try. It is stomach filling and worth the price. Non-vegetarians will find themselves digging into the ‘Mutton Roganjosh’. Pair it with some coke and you are good to go.

If you are up for some wine, The Spice Bazaar will not disappoint you. They boast of a wide collection, the must try here is ‘Shiraz’. This red wine packs a flavourful punch that tapers off, leaving a sharp peppery aftertaste.

Do you like sweets? Then, you are at the right place. Top off your meal with their mouth watering Jalebis and Rasmalais.

The Jalebis are rightly fried; fret not diet conscious folks, they will not mess with your plans. Pair your dessert with their ice-cream and go home content.

Tip: You might want to go a little early as the parking might become an issue due to the crowd.

The Spice Bazaar is located at 40/2, Lavelle Road, Ashok Nagar.
