Kahaani

Vidya Balan’s ‘Kahaani’ showcases the significance of Dasara throughout the film. The movie’s climax symbolises women power. The scene where the actor is hiding amidst a crowd of ladies involved in Durga Puja symbolises that all evil things end. The Sujoy Ghosh directorial features Vidya Balan as Durga who adorns different avatars to destroy the bad elements of the society.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa

Bhool Bhulaiyaa’s climax has been knit around Durgashtami, which is the eighth day of Navaratri. The day plays an important role in the movie as the evil king dies symbolising the death of Ravana. The movie was directed by Priyadarshan.

Swades

From realising the significance of one’s own country to eradicating the blind beliefs of the caste system, the film ‘Swades’ talks entirely about the upper hand of good over evil. Set in 2004, the film was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Shah Rukh Khan’s character ‘Ram’ also implies the arrival of Lord Ram to mark an end to all the miseries.

Goliyon Ki Rasleela… Ram Leela

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela... Ram Leela’ talks about the reunion of the two clans, Rajadis and Saneras, after the sacrifice of two innocent souls Ram and Leela. This brings back the ghostly memories of ‘Treta Yuga’, where thousands of lives were sacrificed to fetch Sita back from Ravana’s prison.
