The origin of writing probably goes back to the history of human beings. The change in handwriting is an ongoing process in a person’s life.  Many people spend a lot of time in handwriting analysis, which is understanding the science behind handwriting.

Pooja, an industrial engineer by profession, does it as a hobby. She says, “My aim has always been to do an MBA and become a manager. All my efforts throughout my career have been to develop skills that will help me become a good manager.

One day as I was surfing the internet, I figured out that one of the best practises in the USA and the UK to be a good manager is to be a good handwriting analyst,” she says.

“Handwriting analysis is one of the easy ways to know a person. Through this, we can understand a person’s strengths and weaknesses. Based on their qualities, I can assign roles that suit them.

This skill will give me an edge over others. Due to this reason, I joined the ‘Handwriting Institute India’ in Bangalore.

It has been four years since I started learning about this
science.”

Handwriting analysis has helped Pooja understand herself better. “I have analysed my own handwriting. It helps me understand my strengths and how much of my potential I have utilised till now.

I have conducted a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis on myself. Through this, I am able to improve my personality,” she explains.

Through handwriting analysis, a lot of things can be figured out. The analysis is done in two parts – macro analysis and micro analysis. Pooja describes, “Macro analysis gives us the holistic view of a person. Through this, we get to know if the person is an extrovert, introvert or an ambivert. We also get to know how expressive a person is,” she says.

“In the micro-level analysis, we get to know the intricate details of a person, like their thinking pattern — slow thinker, fast thinker —— is the person attentive, is he or she a deep thinker or a surface thinker. We can also find out if the person is domineering, or is sensitive to criticism.

There will be a lot of qualities that we can understand through handwriting,” she addsHandwriting is nothing but brain writing. The writings of those who are physically challenged, and who use legs or mouth to write, can also be analysed.

She adds, “Handwriting analysis is called graphology, which is study of writing. The writing is purely related to brain. So the handwriting of a person, who uses legs or mouth to write can also be analysed. One of the important questions people ask is — ‘As a person changes his mood, will his handwriting also change?

“To a common man, the writing may appear differently. But the basic foundation of writing, or the strokes used in writing, will remain the same. The personality will not change at all.”

Handwriting analysis is sometimes seen as a prediction. Clarifying this notion, she says, “Handwriting analysis is not a prediction. It is the assessment of the person at that period of time. There is no guarantee that the same analysis will hold good for the next few years.”

Handwriting analysis has made Pooja quite popular. “I was very popular in my college. Everybody, including my seniors, used to ask me to get their handwriting analysed. I enjoy the attention that I get for the skill that I have acquired,” she reminisces.
