End-of-season sale fever grips online, offline buyers

Last Updated 24 June 2018, 15:21 IST

End-of-season sales have begun across stores, and shoppers are making the best of the deals.

Myntra’s ‘End Of Reason Sale’ on till June 25, offers discounts of up to 80 percent on fashion. For those looking for women’s wear, branded shirts and jackets, accessories, earphones and home furnishing, the sale is a great pitstop.

Karthika S, software professional, had saved up for the end-of-season sales.

“I was able to purchase an Indian dress, jewellery and a bag to match, besides a pair of earphones and some bedsheets for my new house, for just Rs 6,000,” she told Metrolife.

Big fashion brands such as Reebok, Adidas, US Polo Assn and Nike, and accessory brands such as Lavie, Clarks and Guess are on sale at online store Jabong.

“There are great discounts on travel gear, makeup and even athleisure attire. I was shopping for my upcoming vacation and the sale came right in time,” says Rubina L, physiotherapist.

Her advice: “If you spot a good deal, be quick to grab it as items are sold by the time you check them into your shopping cart.” Ajio, another online store, has titled its sale ‘The Everything On Sale’.

Stores have it too

Brick and mortar stores are offering discounts, too. Pantaloons on MG Road has its end of season sale on till July.

Preeti Pandey, department manager at Pantaloons, says, “We have 20 to 30 percent off on new arrivals too. The most selling items during the season are check shirts and jeans among men and kurta and salwar sets among women.”

Denim is a must-buy item during end of season sales among Bengalureans. “Men come in good numbers to buy distressed and torn jeans, while women stock up on high-rise denim now,” says Sandil Kumar of Levi’s on Brigade Road.

Sales go up at least by 20 percent during sales. True Blue on Brigade Road, which showcases shirts, tees, trousers and jeans for men, has a buy-one get-one-free offer on most items till the end of July.

Vedamurthy V S, store owner, says, “We have observed a 25 to 30 per cent increase in footfalls during this period.”

Ravindra R, store manager with Puma, Brigade Road, says the discounts range from 40 to 80 percent.
