MU features in QS World University Rankings

Mangalore University has added another feather to its cap by being in the QS World University Rankings, a global ranking initiative sponsored by the University of Waikato, New Zealand.

In the results published recently, Mangalore University is ranked 43rd among the Indian Universities (out of 78 Universities evaluated) and 175 among BRICS Universities (out of 500 Universities evaluated).

The QS World University Rankings: Asia, published since 2009, is based on key indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, staff with PhD, citations per paper, papers per faculty, international research network, international faculty, international students and so on.

The International Research Network has been introduced as a new feature this year to measure the diversity and richness of transnational research partnerships.

In the 2019 edition of the QS rankings, Mangalore University performed among the top 80% in the QS World University Rankings: ASIA. At 104 regionally, the papers per Faculty indicators is the strongest one for Mangalore University. Its Research intensity has been declared as “very high” and its subject area focus as “comprehensive”. The presence of International Students at Mangalore University has also added value to the University ranking, with a Regional Mean of 5.8 and a score of 8.8 in an overall weightage of 2.5%, said a release.
