The Department of Secretarial Practice and Outreach Cell of Besant Women’s College will be organising a green initiative programme under the banner ‘Namma Mane Namma Mara’ - Corporate Social Responsibility, on July 21 at Mahatma Gandhi auditorium, Ullal.
The programme will be organised in association with Corporation Bank, Karnataka Bank, Hangyo Pvt Ltd, Rotary and Lions Club Chota Mangaluru.
Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader will inaugurate the programme. CMC Commissioner Vani V Alva, environmentalist Madhav Ullal and others will take part.
Principal Dr. Sathish Kumar Shetty P, said that the objective of the programme is to create awareness about the environment, ban plastic and make people realise the importance of the greenery in their surroundings. Cloth bags will be distributed and fruit saplings will be planted in various houses of Ullal area, he added.
