Aamir Khan will be part of Maharashtra government's sports initiative Mission Shakti.

The actor, touted as Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist, will very soon visit Tadoba park in Chandrapur for a programme based on the initiative.

This comes after Aamir had a meeting with Sudhir Mungantiwar, who is the guardian minister of Chandrapur district and also the state's finance, planning and forest Minister.

Mission Shakti will focus on sports including weight lifting, archery, shooting, swimming, athletics, volleyball and gymnastics.

"Students from Chandrapur and Gadchiroli region with excellence, physical endurance, fitness and high-stamina features will be short listed in a rigorous selection test. Along with all necessary educational facilities, the students will be provided training of the international level in the related sports types. For this, financial help is to be sought from famous personalities of industry and corporate sector in Maharashtra," Mungantiwar said.

This training will commence in 2018 and Mungantiwar has kept the objective of 2024 Olympics for this.

It may be recalled that under a similar sports initiative, Mission Shaurya, students from Chandrapur, in Vidarbha region, had climbed the Mount Everest.
