AP: Teacher paraded naked for sexually exploiting minor

An English teacher who impregnated a minor girl was mercilessly beaten and paraded naked through the streets of Eluru town of Andhra Pradesh by her relatives on Wednesday.

38-year-old Kare Rambabu had been exploiting the girl from the past two years. The girl's parents came to know about the teacher’s deeds after the medicines he gave to abort her pregnancy almost took the young girl’s life.

According to Eluru II town police, Rambabu a native of Kurnool in Rayalaseema has been working in a private school for the last six years. He came to Eluru looking for livelihood and somehow secured the job of a teacher.

Rambabu, apparently lured the girl with the promise of more marks when she was his student studying in the tenth standard. He continued exploiting her sexually even after she left the school and joined the local polytechnic college. After her parents found out about her pregnancy she told them that she kept quiet fearing consequences.

Angry relatives and neighbours attacked the teacher in his room and stripped and paraded him through the streets. Learning of the incident from locals, Eluru II town police rushed to the spot and took Rambabu to the police station. He was given a towel and shirt to cover up.

Rambabu, who is said to have agreed to have exploited the girl was given first aid. The police registered a case of rape (IPC 376) along with various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
