The BJP's Delhi unit Saturday inducted a new campaign tool - the "Modi video rath" - to do rounds of the capital's roads in the run up to the assembly election likely to be held next month.

The vans with screens would be used for canvassing in all 70 assembly constituencies, showcasing the party's policies and the Narendra Modi government's achievements, said a statement by the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

"These vehicles shall be sent to all the 70 assembly constituencies and give the message for supporting the party. The audio-visual raths (vans) may also be used as stage for nukkad (street corner) meetings," Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said in the statement.

Members of the Delhi auto rickshaws union, also present on the occasion, "would play the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's messenger while they removed the posters of Aam Aadmi Party from  several auto rickshaws", he added.
