CM alerts official after heavy rains in AP

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday reviewed flood situation in the state following incessant rains in east and west Godavari, Krishna districts.

Normal life was affected in northern coastal Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts due to heavy rainfall.

The chief minister directed officials to shift the people from low lying areas to safer places. He asked the officials to act in coordination with state disaster management and real-time governance to provide relief to the flood victims and make arrangements to supply food and water to the people in flood-affected regions.

In a related development there were reports of increased snake bites in flooded farmlands of Diviseema area of Krishna district. The chief minister also directed the medical and health department officials to make available anti-venom injections in all primary health centres to save the lives of people. He said farmers should be alerted to prevent snakebite incidents.

Naidu said officials of Krishna, East and West Godavari, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts should be more alert as these districts are receiving heavy rainfall.
