The first list of candidates declared by TRS chief immediately after dissolving the Assembly on Thursday hints at possible seat adjustment or some kind of understanding between the party and the BJP as alleged by the opposition.
The list also had names of those who were charged with corruption or misdemeanour.
While KCR declared 105 names and withheld the names for the remaining 14 segments. Four of the withheld seats were earlier represented by BJP including Amberpet, Khairatabad, Goshamahal, and Musheerabad all under the Greater Hyderabad area.
KCR declared only one candidate Beti Subhash Reddy for Uppal Assembly segment that was earlier belonged to BJP. While the party chief hinted at declaring the reaming candidates in the coming days during his whirlwind tour to at least 100 assembly segments within 50 days, the vacancies that KCR didn’t fill might give him a bargaining chance at the hustings.

TRS also hasn’t declared the names of candidates for the seats for two segments Charminar and Malakpet that were represented by the friendly party All India Majlis E Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). KCR has said that there will be some understanding with the Majlis, despite winning performance of TRS in the Municipal polls still has to win over a large number of settlers and Muslims.
Seats to tainted MLAs
The party chief, however, seems have decided to give another chance to MLAs that have faced some form of allegations.
Muttireddy Yadagiri Reddy (Janagaon constituency) was accused of land grabbing by the then district collector A. Sridevasena, a lady officer. She was transferred after a prolonged humiliation in the hands of the MLA to Peddapalli district.
Similarly, Banoth Shankar Nayak, who represented Mahabubabad (ST) seat and was arrested for misbehaving with collector Ms Preeti Meena, was given yet another chance.
While Balka Suman MP (Chennur), Kancharla Bhupal Reddy (Nalgonda), and Journalist Chanti Kranthi Kiran (Andole) will be contesting for the first time, candidates with very low marks in the party survey such as Nallala Odelu and actor Babu Mohan were denied seats.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (Gajwel) and his son and state IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao (Sircilla) will contest again from the same place.
In all, 4 women, 2 from minority community, 55 represent other castes, 21 backward classes, 16 Scheduled Castes and 11 Scheduled Tribes figured in the first list of TRS.
