High alert in Maharashtra

The high alert in Gadchiroli, Gondia and Chandrapur is also following intelligence inputs received a few weeks ago that Naxals could strike in Gadchiroli.

All precautionary measures have been taken to avoid any untoward incident, a top state police officer here said. Security forces in the districts have been asked to follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and to be vigilant.

Maharashtra Director General of Police A N Roy and other top police officials also met here to take stock of the situation in the districts.
