Addressing four back-to-back rallies in West Bengal on Wednesday, BJP president Amit Shah targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the burning issues of NRC, Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and Article 370.

The BJP president accused the TMC supremo of supporting those who are seeking to divide the country.

“Mamata didi is supporting those who are trying to divide the nation. She must make it clear whether she supports (National Conference leader) Omar Abdullah’s demand for a separate prime minister in Jammu and Kashmir,” said Shah.

He also said that if the BJP returned to power, it would scrap Article 370. Shah urged the people to ensure that the BJP wins 30 Lok Sabha seats from West Bengal so it could fulfil its pre-poll promises.

The BJP president lashed out at Mamata for her opposition to the NRC and Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. He claimed that the reason behind the TMC chief’s actions was her use of infiltrators as a vote bank.

“These infiltrators are usurping the resources of our country like termites. We are determined to throw out these infiltrators. First, we will pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill to grant citizenship to refugees and then conduct NRC across the country to ensure that infiltrators are spotted and thrown out,” said Shah.

He alleged that under the TMC government law and order has collapsed in Bengal and only the industry of bomb-making was flourishing in the state.

“Bengal used to be known for the songs of Rabindranath Tagore. Now, under the TMC government, the melodies have been suppressed with the sounds of bomb blasts,” said Shah.

He also criticised the chief minister for asking evidence of the air strike on terror camps in Pakistan.
