BJP president J P Nadda on Thursday said that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government’s decision of imposing lockdown in West Bengal on the day of bhumi pujan on August 5 for Ram Mandir showed that anti-Hindu mindset and appeasement were the hallmarks of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s politics.

Addressing a virtual rally for Bengal the BJP president also pointed out that the TMC government withdrew lockdown in the state on July 31 for Bakri Eid.

“Such politics of vote bank, appeasement and creation of anti-Hindu mindset is the hallmark of Mamata Didi’s politics. We are happy that the lockdown was lifted on July 31. But what was the reason behind imposing lockdown on August 5? This is nothing but appeasement politics,” said Nadda. Indicating that his party will make this a poll issue in the 2021 Assembly election in Bengal Nadda urged BJP workers in the state to “expose such politics” in front of the people.

He also asked party workers to convince people that Mamata was least bothered about them and is only concerned about gaining political mileage. Nadda urged BJP workers to uproot the TMC government in Bengal and said that the TMC supremo is well aware that the ground is sliding beneath her feet .“We have to uproot the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in the next Assembly elections.

Mamata Ji knows that the ground is sliding beneath her feet and the people of West Bengal are ready to make lotus bloom in the state,” said Nadda.

The BJP president further alleged that the Chief Minister was depriving the people of Bengal of the benefits of social welfare scheme of the Centre by not implementing them in the state.“I am sorry to say that Mamata didi is creating hurdles in the path of people of West Bengal joining the mainstream,” said Nadda.

Nadda said that even on issues such the Covid-19 pandemic Mamata is not cooperating with the Centre and is opposing it for petty politics.
