Tarun Kherajwani was apprehended after Radha Kapoor, nine years older to him, was found dead in Japanese Park in Rohini's Sector 13 yesterday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Chhaya Sharma said.

"He was arrested when he came to catch the Metro at Rohini West Metro Station," Sharma said.

Radha, married to one Kamal Kapoor, was running a boutique and beauty parlour in Shastri Nagar, police said. She had two children.
During investigations, Sharma said, it was found that her relationship with her husband got soured after it came to light that she allegedly had an extra-marital relationship with Kherajwani.

Investigators also found that she left her beauty parlour at about 11.30 am after receiving a call on her mobile phone. Kherajwani was seen with her on the same day.
During questioning, Sharma said, Kherajwani told police that he wanted to marry her but she was not ready to abandon her family.

As he became demanding, she began ignoring him.
"Kherajwani was very much upset due to this and he planned to eliminate Radha as he could not tolerate the woman staying with her husband and family," Sharma said.
He allegedly called her to Japanese Park on July 13 on the pretext that he would settle the matter. When she came there, he asked her again to leave her family.
"When she insisted that she cannot go with him, he offered her to come with her children. But she again disagreed. On this, he took her in the bushes and started beating her up. She also resisted and they both fell on the bushes, where he strangled her," Sharma said.

He also allegedly hit her face and head with stone. Kherajwani also sustained bruises and abrasions on his neck and arms.
Kherajwani is working as a salesman in a Bata Showroom in Rohini. His father had abandoned his mother since his childhood and he was brought up by his mother and maternal grandfather, police said.
