A day after Pakistani prisoner Shakrullah (50) was killed by fellow inmates in Jaipur Central Jail, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Thursday issued a notice to the Government of Rajasthan over the killing.
The Commission also asked all states and Union territories (UTs) to take precautionary measures in every jail where Pakistani nationals are currently lodged.
Pakistan has also asked the Government of India to ensure foolproof security to all Pakistani prisoners.
Jail authorities said Shakrullah was murderd by fellow inmates, when they were watching TV and he asked them to lower the volume, which allegedly provoked them.
