Himalayan Queen Express derails near Panipat

No casualty or injuries have been reported after a coach attached on the rear of the Himalayan Queen Express train derailed near Panipat in Haryana this morning.

The derailed bogie kept dragging for some distance damaging the track and creating panic among passengers on board.

Rail traffic on the route has been hit since morning owing to the accident. The derailed coach has now been detached from the train.

Railways are hoping to resume traffic on the tracks in some time.

The incident took place on Delhi-Ambala track near Bhodwal Majri railway station. Rescuers reached the spot.

The train had left Delhi at around 5.40 Wednesday morning.
