The curious case of Sadhvi Pragya's age

What is the real age of Malegaon blast accused and BJP’s Bhopal candidate Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur?

In social media, her age is 31 years as she was said to be born on April 2, 1988.

But in 2016, the controversial Sadhvi claimed to be 44 years old which means she is now 47 years old. The claim is mentioned in the document she submitted to the Bombay High Court seeking bail in connection with the Malegaon blast case, for which she was arrested in October 2008.

However, this too is disputed, because in her affidavit filed on Monday as the BJP’s candidate, she has mentioned her age as 49 years!

Going by her age on social media, she was just four years old when she climbed atop the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992, to demolish the structure as she claimed while talking to a news channel two days ago. The Election Commission has served a notice for her boast on the mosque demolition.

“I am proud to have demolished the Babri Masjid. God gave me this opportunity and power. I removed a blot on the country,” she claimed in the interview to the news channel.

Social media has been set abuzz by her bragging. Many top politicians and journalists have joined thousands of users in marvelling as to how the feisty sanyasan could achieve this stupendous feat of demolishing the mosque when she was barely four years old.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti sarcastically compared Sadhvi to cartoon characters Chhota Bheem and Shin Chan who are portrayed as precocious children with enormous physical prowess. Journalists Vir Sanghvi and Shekhar Gupta, too, tweeted about it.

@MehboobaMufti: India’s answer to boss baby that would put the adventures of Chota Bheem & Shin Chan to shame.

@ShekharGupta: She was four then. Must have been a precocious child. Inspiration for Chhota Bheem...

@virsanghviIt just gets worse and worse. Hello Election Commission, you think you might want to wake up now?
