Rail traffic restored in Kerala

Rail traffic between Ernakulam-Kottayam had been affected after earth caved in on three bogies of the Mangalore express from Thiruvananthapuram yesterday.The loose soil was removed from the track and line restored.

Except Train no 346 Ernakulam-Kayamkulam passenger and Train no 336 Kayamkulam-Kayamkulam passenger which are cancelled for the bridge work across Meenachal river near kottayam, all other trains would run their normal course, the southern railways said in a press release here.

Ten trains would be diverted tomorrow for the regirdering of the kottayam-Meenachal bridge and would run via alapzuha.The trains are: Trivandrum-Mangalore-Trivandrum Parasuram express, Trivandrum-Hyderabad-Trivandrum Sabari express, Kannyakumari-Mumbai express, Trivandrum-New Delhi-Trivandrum Kerala express, Kochuveli-Lokmanyathilak Garibrath express, Trivandrum-Guwahati Express, Kannyakumari-Bangalore-kanyakumari express, Trivandrum-Chennai mail, Nagercoil-Shalimar express and Shornur-venad express.Trivandrum-Chennai express and Trivandrum-Ernakulam vanchinad express will be regulated tomorrow, the release said.
