RBS offers max internships on Day 1 of IIM-A summer placements

Royal Bank of Scotland has once again reinforced its faith in the talent pool at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), by making the highest number of offers, an official statement said.

However, IIM-A did not divulge the exact number of students that bagged internship offers from the investment bank. RBS had given offers to 12 students last year.The summer placement process for first year PGP students saw participation from about 25 recruiters, including McKinsey & Co, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Nomura.

Global management investment firm, T Rowe Price, came to IIM-A for the first time this year.
About 420 students will be participating in the summer placement programme, but four IIM-A students opted out of the process to join non-profit firms.

"IIM-A students are increasingly valuing placement services as a means of pursuing their dreams, rather than merely chasing monetary benefits," Mukherjee said.

Interviews for international investment banks, global strategy consulting and private equity firms and venture capital and investment management firms were conducted on the first day.

The next cluster of placements is scheduled for November 15, when top corporates are expected to land up at the campus.IIM-A will provide internship to a batch of 380 first year Post Graduate Programme in Management students and 40 students of the Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management this year.

The overall number of international summer placements from IMM-A last year stood at 76, representing almost a quarter of the batch of 310 PGP students that participated in the placement process
