ISRO ex-scientist tainted, says ex-cop's biography

Last Updated 19 April 2019, 21:24 IST

Kerala former state police chief T P Senkumar has said that ISRO former scientist Nambi Narayanan, a recipient of the Padma award, was not fully clean in two-decade-old ISRO espionage case.

In his service story titled My Police Life, Senkumar said that Nambi Narayanan would have to answer many questions like his relationship with the Maldivian women involved in the alleged espionage of space research secrets.

Senkumar's remarks would be an embarrassment for the BJP as Senkumar is now campaigning for the NDA, while even Prime Minister Narendra Modi justified Nambi Narayanan.

Senkumar, who had a successful legal fight against the present Left-front government in Kerala over his removal from state police chief post, also mentions of CPM's roles in a controversial rape-murder in Kerala. He says in his book that a woman IPS officer had told him of her suspicions about the CPM's role in the rape and murder of a law student in 2016, as the Left front got advantage of it in the Assembly election of that year.

Senkumar alleged that his former IPS colleagues including current Kerala police chief Loknath Behera tried to prevent his reappointment as the State Police Chief.
