Maverick moviemaker and atheist Ramgopal Verma offered prayers at the Tirumala temple along with late N T Rama Rao's wife Lakshmi Parvathi before releasing the poster for his upcoming movie "Lakshmi's NTR" a biopic on the founder of Telugu Desam Party on Friday. The movie will be released on January 24th, 2019.

The movie, according to RGV will throw light on the life of the great leader after the entry of Telugu research scholar Veeragandham Lakshmi Parvathi into his life. NTR a widower by that time later married her after announcing it at a TDP public meeting in Tirupati.

“The movie will be a narration by NTR on how he saw the marriage, the division of the party and so on. There would be no distortion,” RGV said at the launch. Referring to the last interview of the former CM in which he blamed son-in-law Nara Chandrababu Naidu for the split within the party, RGV said that the movie reflects on the same sentiment that NTR had and he had watched the interview only after NTR died.

Giving reasons on why he chose Tirupati to launch the shoot, RGV said that he never visited the temple but came to Tirumala while making the Sridevi Nagarjuna starrer, "Govinda Govinda". "The movie bombed at the box office as the story was based on a grand theft at the temple, maybe the god is angry with me," he said. He further said that NTR was a true devotee of the Lord.

In a teaser released by RGV, he says that no one would believe that there are no political motives in making the movie. NTR's son Balakrishna is also coming out with a two-part magnum opus on the great leader. "But the story of NTR is incomplete if you don't watch my movie," he said.

Lakshmi Parvathi said that she has requested RGV to present the facts and whatever NTR has said in his life. Chairman of GV Films Balagiri and producer Rakesh Reddy were also present.
