Stop your nefarious activities, Rajnath tells Pakistan

Urging misguided youth in Kashmir not to get misled, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday sent a strong message to Pakistan asking the neighbouring country to stop its “nefarious activities” towards India.

“I am pained to see the youth of the state, especially of Kashmir, being misguided. When some misguided youth raise pro-Pakistan slogans and wave Pakistan flags, it is not a good thing. I appeal to such youths not to get misguided,” he said while addressing a BJP workers’ rally in Jammu.

“We are ready to talk with anybody as in a democracy channels of communication shall always remain intact. But we won’t tolerate any anti-national activity,” Singh asserted.
In a clear warning to Pakistan, the Union Home Minister said, “If it (Pakistan) wants its own welfare, then it must stop meddling in the affairs of other countries. It (Pakistan) must stop all its nefarious activities aimed towards India.”

Accusing Pakistan of backstabbing India, he said, “Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee extended a hand of friendship towards Pakistan, but it stabbed us in the back. Last year Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited all the heads of the state of the neighbouring countries to the swearing-in ceremony including the prime minister of Pakistan.”

On recent incidents of raising of pro-Pakistan slogans and display of flag of that country in the Valley, he said, “Anybody trying to harm nation’s pride and reputation will be given a befitting reply. We trust our army, our paramilitary and our forces. No question can be raised on their integrity and love for the country.”
