UP, Gujarat simmer at 47 Degree Celsius

 Heatwave conditions continued to sweep several parts of the country with major cities, including Allahabad and Gandhinagar, registering temperatures around 47 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

According to official sources in Lucknow, Allahabad remained the hottest place in Uttar Pradesh with the maximum temperature reaching 46.9 degrees Celsius.

The toll in the heatstroke-related incidents has reached 20 with the death of five people across UP in the past 24 hours.

The state government has put hospitals on high alert following rising temperatures.
Meanwhile, Gujarat sizzled under scorching heat as the port city of Kandla remained the hottest at 48.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

According to reports, two people died in Rajkot and one each in Ahmedabad and Banaskantha. While Gandhinagar recorded a temperature of 47 degrees, Ahmedabad saw temperature touching 46.9 degrees Celsius.

The port city of Kandla was the hottest with temperature rising to 48.4 degrees Celcius followed by Surendranagar in Saurashtra 47.8, Amerli 46.6 and Rajkot recorded 45.7 degrees Celsius.
