Vivekananda Reddy murder: Aide, assitant among 3 held

Police on Thursday arrested three persons in connection with the murder case of YS Vivekananda Reddy the paternal uncle of YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

All the three accused are close aids of the deceased YSRCP leader. The police in a press release accused them of destroying evidence and misleading police.

The statement says the late Vivekananda Reddy’s personal assistant Yerram Gangi Reddy (A1), personal secretary MV Krishna Reddy (A2) and son of housemaid Prakash (A3) were taken into custody by DSP of Pulivendula in connection with the murder of the leader on March 15 at his residence in Pulivendula of Kadapa district.

The police said that MV Krishna Reddy filed a complaint with the Pulivendula police at 8 am the same day. Based on his complaint a case under death cause not known was registered. Later it was changed into a murder case following further revelations by the close relatives of the deceased.

The police accused the three of shifting the dead body from the bathroom to the bedroom and wiping off all the evidence in the bedroom thereafter. The accused then shifted the dead body to the Pulivendula Government hospital in an ambulance even before police could arrive at the scene of the crime. Krishna Reddy was accused of concealing the cause of death by keeping the letter purportedly written by the deceased with him till the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Dr Suneetha, daughter of Y S Vivekananda suspected the hand of K Parameshwar Reddy a close associate of her father and TDP leader Adinarayana Reddy in her father’s murder. Speaking to media here she said that Chief Minister Naidu is trying to protect Adinarayana Reddy and the real culprits. She said she has no confidence in the SIT formed by the Andhra Pradesh government to look into the murder of her father.
